8:54 AM – Downstairs living room ceiling begins to leak what smells like urine
Coastline workers have yet to arrive five days after the emergency, so Veronica lays down trays in the downstairs living room to catch water as the ceiling begins to leak directly under the 2nd story toilet above. Unknown whether the leak contains sewage.
11:09 AM – Coastline yet to arrive
Downstairs Living room walls begin to weep as the ceiling continues to leak.
2 PM – Workers arrive unprepared, must return
Workers arrive but are unaware of the scope of the job and must return the next day with the proper tools. This is the second time Coastline had sent unprepared workers which delayed repairs for a day. The first such incident involved the replacement of our faulty hot water heater which was causing sky-high electric bills. That issue took six months to resolve.
The unprepared workers leave two 10-gallon buckets to catch leaking water now pouring out of the living room ceiling.
6:11 PM – Chris returns
Chris returns from a work trip to find a disaster developing on both floors of the townhouse apartment.
6:20 PM – Call made to Citizen Beach Collection’s office
Nobody answers. Leave a frantic voicemail.
6:23 PM – Call made to Coastline’s emergency number in Beverly Hills
Patched through to a man that states that he’s in Anaheim, and he “doesn’t know what good he can do.” States that he would call Coastline management personally and call back “in five minutes.” Nobody calls back. Forced to sleep in a soaked apartment.
