9:07 AM – Proposal finally responded to, denied
Gloria forwards our proposal to Jimmy Ordaz. Jimmy never responds to the proposal via email. Instead, he tells us that it’s an unaffordable option for Coastline because he has, “Bosses to answer to.” But he’d have no problem destroying more of our belongings in the coming days to push the cost of the debacle onto us.
3-and-4-FUSED10:15 AM – No work done
No work performed. No evidence that workers had been in the unit since Friday, Sept 17. We turned off the dehumidifier because nobody was coming by to empty the bucket and the machine is incapable of killing mold. Coastline sent a “contractor” to kill the mold, not an environmental specialist and it shows.
It’s perhaps a good thing that Coastline’s contractor lied about removing the vanity because mold would have proliferated even further without a zero-pressure containment area. A proper mold remediator from an environmental company can set up the proper measures.
The building was constructed in 1969 and the unit features popcorn ceilings — two indicators of asbestos. Robert Soto of Ameriflood Environmental urged Coastline to perform asbestos checks in each individual unit despite Jimmy Ordaz’s claim that none of his properties contain asbestos. And with Coastline’s history of lying and gaslighting, we can’t feel safe or certain but Coastline disallows removal of belongings before more work is performed. They deny our request to protect ourselves from this disasterious process.
1:07 PM – Still no work performed
The black leather makes it easy to see the film covering every square inch of the unit.
Less easy to see on the shelving in the living room but apparent on the printer.
